About the BookThe Budhacarita is a well-planned work written in Sanskrit by Asvaghosa who was a contemporary of Kusana emperor Kaniska. It is one of the few biographies of Buddha that is complete commencing with his birth and ending with his nirvana. This work is composed in the style of ornate court poetry or Kaavya. Unlike the Mahavastu and the Lalitavistara, it is a systematic treatment of the subject matter.

The life of Gautama Buddha has been complied by Dr. Prafulla Kumar Pattanik with a view to presenting a clear and consistent picture about the real birth place important events of his life such as renunciation, visit to ancestral place, distribution of ashes, relics etc. It is based mostly, if not wholly, on the research scholar of Orissa lata Chakradhar Mohapatra and also on invaluable works of some of Buddhist monks like Uttama Bhikksu and Reve' Siridhamma and also of Buddhist scholar and statesman, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

In the study Mathieu Boisvert presents a detailed analysis of the five aggregates (pancakkhandha) and establishes how the Theravada tradition views their interaction. He clarifies the fundamentals of Buddhist psychology by providing a rigorous examination of the nature and interrelation of each of the aggregates and by establishing, for the first time, how the function of each of these aggregates chains beings to the cycle of birth, death and rebirth--the theory of dependent origination (paticcasamuppada). Boisvert contends that without a thorough understanding of the five aggregates, we cannot grasp the liberation process at work within the individual, who is, after all, simply an amalgam of the five aggregates. The Five Aggregates represents an important and original contribution to Buddhist Studies and will be of great interest to all scholars and students of Buddhism.

The Life of The Buddha Part 1 & 2 - This little book, in two parts, very briefly covers almost all aspects of the Buddha from birth until His parinirvana (death). All important events are presented in simple language.

බුදු හිමි බෙදු දහම් කරුණු 

ක්ෂණ භංග දැකීම, ථේරවාදය හා විපස්සනාව - මෙම කෘතිය තුළින් විස්තර වන්නේ ථේරවාද අභිධර්මය තුල දක්නට ලැබෙන ගැටළුකාරි තත්තව ගැනයි. පටලැවිල්ලක් මෙන් දිස්වන කරුණක් ගැනය. සමහරක් විදර්ශනා ඤාණ කෙරෙහි අතිශයින් බලපාන කරුණු ගැනය.

ඛන්ධක විනය - ථෙරවාදී බුදුදහමේ පැවිදි ප්‍රජාව පාලනය කරන නීති රීති ගෙනහැර දක්වන ඛන්ධක කොටස කෙරෙහි විශේෂයෙන් අවධානය යොමු කරමින් විනය පිටකය පිළිබඳ පුළුල් ගවේෂණයක් ඉදිරිපත් කරයි. සූක්ෂම විශ්ලේෂණය සහ අර්ථකථනය තුළින්, මෙම පොත පැවිදි කිරීමේ ක්‍රියා පටිපාටි, දෛනික චර්යාවන්, සදාචාරාත්මක හැසිරීම් සහ පැවිදි සංඝයා තුළ ඇති ආරවුල් නිරාකරණය වැනි අංග ආවරණය කරමින් භික්ෂූන් සහ භික්ෂුණීන් විසින් නිරීක්ෂණය කරන ලද සංකීර්ණ විනය සංග්‍රහය වෙත යොමු කරයි. සාම්ප්‍රදායික ග්‍රන්ථ සහ විද්වත් තීක්ෂණ බුද්ධිය මත පදනම්ව, "ඛන්ධක විනය" පාඨකයන්ට ථෙරවාදී බුදුදහමේ පැවිදි ජීවිතය පාලනය කරන මූලධර්ම සහ භාවිතයන් පිළිබඳ ගැඹුරු අවබෝධයක් ලබා දෙයි. ඔබ අභ්‍යාස කරන්නෙකු, උගතෙකු හෝ බෞද්ධ පැවිද්ද ගැන සරලව කුතුහලයෙන් සිටින අයෙකු වුවද, මෙම පොත විනය ශික්ෂණයේ සූක්ෂමතාවයන් සහ සමකාලීන සමාජයට එහි අදාළත්වය ගවේෂණය කිරීම සඳහා අගනා සම්පතක් ලෙස සැළකිය හැක.

අතිපූජ්‍ය හේන්පිටගෙදර ඤාණසීහ හිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ විසින් රචිත ‘සත්‍වයා’ නම් ග්‍රන්ථය ලෝක සත්‍වයාගේ ඇති වීම හා පැවතීම පිළිබඳ විශේෂ වූ කරුණු රාශියකින් සමන්විත වූ ප්‍රකාශනයකි. මෙහිදී බුදු දහම මගින් ලෝක සත්‍වයා විග්‍රහ කිරීමත් සෙසු ආගම් මගින් කළ විග්‍රහයත් මනාව පැහැදිලි කොට ඇත. 

අතිපූජ්‍ය හේන්පිටගෙදර ඤාණසීහ හිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ විසින් රචිත ‘දෙවියෝ’ නම් ග්‍රන්ථය බුදුන් ජීවමාන සමයේ සිටම දෙවියන් පිළිබඳ කතිකාවට ලක් වූ අවස්ථාවන් උදාහරණ ලෙස දක්වමින් පාඨකයා වෙත දෙවියන් පිළිබඳ නිවැරදි අදහසක් ලබා දීමේ අරමුණි රචනා කරන ලද්දක් වේ.
