මේ ප්‍රේත වස්තුව පාලි පේතවත්ථු අටුවාව සරල සිංහලයට නැඟීමෙහි ප්‍රතිඵලයකි. ඒම නිසා ප්‍රේත වස්තු කථා පහසුවෙන් තේරුම් ගැනීමට මේ ග්‍රන්ථය සහාය වෙයි.ප්‍රේත වස්තුවෙහි කථාවස්තු අතර ගාථාද දක්නට ලැඛෙයි. මේ ග්‍රන්ථයෙහි ගාථා කථා වස්තු වලට ඇතුළත් නොකොට ගාථාවන්හි අර්ථ සපුරා සිංහලයට නගා ඇත. එහෙත් ග්‍රන්ථය අවසානයෙහි ප්‍රේත වස්තුවේ සියලු ගාථා අර්ථ සමඟ දක්වා ඇත. ග්‍රන්ථයෙහි කථාවස්තූන්හි සඳහන් කොට ඇති අංක මඟින් එයින් පැවසෙන අර්ථය සහිත ගාථාව කුමක්ද යනු හඳුනාගත හැකි ආකාරයට මෙම ග්‍රන්ථය රචනා කර ඇත.
