සිංහල ව්‍යාකරණ මතවාද පිළිබද ව අධ්‍යනය කිරීම වර්තමානයේ සිදු කෙරෙන්නේ ඉතා අල්ප වශයෙනි. එවැනි කාලයක එම්. කේ. සුසන්ත සේනාධිරලංකාර මහතා විසින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා බෞද්ධ හා පාලි විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයයේ දර්ශනපති උපාධිය සදහා ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද ''විදුදය විදුලකර ගුරුකුල ඇසුරින් ඒවා අතර පැවති ශාස්ත්‍රීය වාද විවාද පිළිබද අධ්‍යනයක්'' යන මාතෘකාව යටතේ කරන ලද පර්යේෂණය ඉතා වැදගත් බව සදහන් කළ යුතුය. එම පර්යේෂණය ඇසුරින් සම්පාදනය කරන ලද ''විද්‍යාදය හා විද්‍යාලංකාර ගුරුකුල අතර පැවති ශාස්ත්‍රීය වාද විවාද'' නමැති මෙම ග්‍රන්ථය ''ගුරුකුල ප්‍රභවයට මූලික වූ අෂ්ටායතන '' ගුරුකුලවලින් ප්‍රභාවිත පිරිවෙන්වල ප්‍රභවය සහ විකාසනය'' ''විද්‍යාදය, විද්‍යාලංකාර ගුරුකුල මතවාද හා තදන්‍ය වාද විවාද'', ගුරුකුලාගත අක්ෂර වින්‍යාස මතවාද'' යනුවෙන් පරිච්ජේද හතරකින් යුක්ත වෙයි.

විශ්ව විද්‍යාල උපාධි අපේක්ෂක විද්‍යාර්ථීන්ගේ දැනුම වඩාත් සංවර්ධනය කර ගැනීමට ඉවහල් වන පරිදි විෂය කිහිපයක් පාදක කරගෙන මෙම ශාස්ත්‍රීය ලිපි සංග්‍රහය ගොනුකර ඇත.
සිංහල සාහිත්‍යය, සංස්කෘත සාහිත්‍යය, පාලි සාහිත්‍යය, ඉතිහාසය, ඉන්දු නිම්න ශිෂ්ටාචාරය, සීගිරි පද්‍ය, ගිරා සන්දේශය, බුද්ධ චරිතය, ප්‍රාකෘත භාෂා, අශෝක අධිරාජයාගේ සුවිශේෂත්වය, බෞද්ධ සංස්කෘත සාහිත්‍ය, ප්‍රාකෘත භාෂාවන්ගේ පූර්ව ක්‍රියාපදය, සංස්කෘත රත්නාවලී නාට්‍යය, සංස්කෘත උපනිෂද් කාව්‍යය සහ වීර කාව්‍යය මේ ආදී ඒ ඒ විෂයන් වලට ප්‍රමාණික විෂය අවබෝධයක් පහසුවෙන් ලබාගැනීමට හැකිවන පරිදි මෙම ලිපි සංග්‍රහය සම්පාදනය කර ඇති අතර. මෙම ලිපි පෙළ මගින් උසස් විභාග සදහා පෙනී සිටින විද්‍යාර්ථයින්ගේ විෂය දැනුම් සම්භාරය වැඩිදියුණු කර ගැනීමට හැකිය.
